Brian Interviews Brian
I was looking for a way to share some more about myself. As I was thinking, I realized that interviews are a popular way many sites/TV shows use to get to know people. An interview it is. The trouble is that I didn't have anyone else around at the moment to interview me - so, I decided to interview myself.
Brian: How would you describe what you do, in 10 words or less?
Brian: Easy. User Experience Focus. Also, the secret to happiness is…
Brian: Okay, stop there, your 10 words are up. On to the next question. What’s your background?
Brian: I got my degree in Information Systems and Marketing from Colorado State University. Since then, I’ve had varied experience in multimedia, training, IT and more. I really like variety and new challenges, so it’s worked out well that I’ve had an opportunity to do a number of things.
Brian: It sounds like you do a lot of different types of work. What tools do you use to get the work done?
Brian: I use a number of tools – whatever gets the job done. Having said that, I’m an Adobe guy through and through. I use nearly all their tools for photo editing, video editing, web design/programming, graphic design, etc. I also spend a lot of time in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel for business stuff.
Brian: Wow, that’s a lot of different tools – which ones do you use most often?
Brian: I’d say I spend the most amount of time in InDesign (I use it for page layout), Lightroom (I use it for photography) and Flash.
Brian: What do you do when you’re not working?
Brian: First and foremost, I’m a dad, so I love spending time with my kids. They’re still pretty young so I play a lot of pretend and cars.
When I’m not spending time with them, I spread time between photography, reading and golf (regular golf and disc golf). I'm also a bit of a gadget guy - I really enjoy trying out new and interesting technology.
Brian: Now for a controversial question. Mac or PC?
Brian: I’ve used and like both. Due largely to cost (PCs are usually cheaper) and the fact that all my software is the PC version, I’m a PC guy. I have an HP desktop and laptop and a custom-built video editing machine.
Anything else you’d like to share with your visitors?
Brian: Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ve learned more about me. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
